Client Interview Questions for Electricians Traveling to the Gulf

In this blog post, we shared 20+ frequently asked interview questions by clients. All these questions are based on my personal experience and most of the time clients ask these types of questions to candidates. If you will prepare accordingly then definitely you’ll crack an interview.

1) What is a switch in the field of an electrician?

Switch is a kind of material that we have used for off the fan or any electronic things.

2) What is fuse?

The metal wire or strip, when too much current flows, is called a fuse and is used to protect the circuit from overload.

3) What is the use of a breaker?

The breaker is used to protect the circuit breakers from damage and overload caused by short circuits, and it is also called a safety circuit breakers.

4) What is MCB?

The mob (miniature circuit breaker) is also a safety product for avoiding the short circuit automatically switching off the power when an overload or short circuit occurs. Want to read more on what is MCB? Click Here.

5) What is MCCB?

It’s also used as a safety product as usual, like MCB. Both are the same, but MCCB both use or avoid short circuits; it is designed for a higher current rating.

6) What are the five basic tools of an electrician?

Wire strippers, voltage testers, pliers, screwdrivers, and tape measures are mentioned here. There are more than 20 to 30 elements of an electrician.

7) What is the phase wire?

The phase wire, also known as the live wire, carries the current from the power source.

8) What is the neutral wire?

Natural wire used components of an electrician system they carried or backed to the power source; it’s called neutral wire.

9) What is earthing in electrician?

We are using earthing for the safety process. When currents are thrown out on electronic things, then earthing is protected because this system is connected in an electrical system to the ground to protect the people or equipment from electric shock or other hazards.

10) How to connect the two batteries for use?

In the battery, there are two positive and negative sides. You want to join the wire on the positive side, and on the other battery, you have to connect to the negative side, which creates a two-in-one battery.

11) What is the conductor?

The conductor is a material or substance that allows the electricity to flow.

12) What are isolators?

Isolators are the machine switches that separate the line of electricity from the power source.

13) What is the capacitor?

A capacitor is an electronic component of the capacitor that saves or stores energy.

14) What are the power factors?

Power factors are used efficiently in the electricity system. Power factors are divided into two parts: real power and apparent power; it is also known as mathematically expressed.

15) What is the singular phase?

A singular phase is the type of electrical method that also connects the two conductors and the other neutral wire or live wire. This cycle is used in small things like residential homes, small businesses, retail shops, etc.

16) What are the three phases?

Three phases are The electrician methods provide a large unit of the electricity current flows in three phases commonly used in industrial large commercial applications as well as high voltage transmission of electrical power.

17) What is a socket?

The socket has three pins or has many categories in the socket, like universal socket, and international socket, it is used for electronic things or for charging the things of electronics.

18) What is the use of a screwdriver in an electrician field?

In the field of electricity, a screwdriver plays an important role in fitting the screw of the electrician’s box and also in opening something for it.

19) What is the use of a teaser?

A tester is used as usual, like a screwdriver, but also the tester is used for checking whether the voltage on the wire current is flowing or not.

20) Which color wire is used in natural and phase?

For natural wire, we used black color, and phase wire was used for red wire. For earthing wire, we use green wire.

21) What is the size of the wire in mm. ?

There are 4 types of mm used in the electrician field.

1.5 mm², 2.5 mm², 4 mm² & 6 mm² According to this, there are many different categories we get to see small to big copper increase in wire. 1.5mm² used for normal lighting 2.5mm² used for power circuit 4mm² & 6mm² used for heavier appliances or circuits Higher load requirement.

22) What wire size suits an AC unit and a normal board. ?

In air conditioning (AC), there are many types according to AC, so we have to decide. For the wire example for a 1.5 ton we have to use 4mm² generally for 2 or 3 tons (AC) need 6mm² or 10mm² ensure the safe transmission of higher current. They need a high supplier of AC tons.

23) How much load can the main switch handle?

It depends on the electronic things. A normal switch (6A/16A) is used for fans, lights, and small appliances. On the other hand, for fridges, we have to use a high-voltage switch (32A). It is also known as a DP switch for air conditioning (AC). As per your requirement, you can also use DP or you can use MCB also.

24) What is the 2-way switch? Where will it be used?

A two-way switch is normally placed on 6A/16A. This switch has two sides for the things you can operate the electronic stuff in. If you turn it off, it will start again.
