Dear readers, if you want to apply to Aramco, then this blog post will give you a complete roadmap.
First things first, you won’t get Aramco approval directly from Saudi Aramco. So the question here is, how do you get approval?
To do this, you first need to understand how Saudi Aramco works.

Based on the above diagram, you can see that various contractors take projects from Saudi Aramco, and to get approval,l you have to work under these companies. Here is the process on how you can get Aramco approval.
Step 1: Join companies that accomplish Saudi Aramco Projects
If you’re a fresher, then first you have to work under those companies that Saudi Aramco approves. Companies like Zamil Offshore, ABBIS, Anabeeb, Petro Rabigh, Al Seif. For this, you can contact any recruiting agency like Hamdan Global, Soundlines, F Gheewala, or any other registered recruitment agency.
Now must people hesitate to join these companies because of salary, but as per my experience. If you join at a lower salary, then it’s fine because if you’re skilled, then the company will send your profile for approval. So it’s worth applying if the salary is moderate.
Step 2: Gain experience:
I’ve seen CVs with 10 years of experience, but failed at Aramco. This is because they’re not following Aramco standards, which the company and Saudi Aramco want.
As a Oil and Gas recruiter, you have to be aware of current standards and certifications based on your field.
Step 3: Keep your documents up to date:
Here are list of documents you have to prepare
📄 A. Personal / Identity Documents (Mandatory)
- Passport (Minimum 12 months validity)
- Clear color scan passport-size photograph
- White background (Recent within 6 months)
- National ID (For record verification)
📄 B. Education & Skill Documents
- Educational Certificate (Diploma / Degree / Trade certificate)
- Professional Certifications (depends on job role, like Safety, technical, or trade-related)
- Some common certifications are
📄 C. Experience Proof (Very Important)
Experience Certificates on company letterhead, with:
📄 D. CV / Resume (needs attention)
- Updated CV (Aramco-Preferred Format)
- Note: Ill upload some sample CVs of Aramco-approved candidates
📄 E. Medical & Fitness (Post-Selection)
Aramco-Standard Medical Report, like Vision, blood tests, hearing, X-ray, ECG, Drug & alcohol screening.
📄 F. Security & Compliance
Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). It’s not mandatory, but sometime company ask for it
📄 G. Contractor-Side Documents
- Handled mostly by the employer, but you must support.
- Sponsorship / Offer Letter
- Visa & Iqama Processing Documents
- Site Access Request
Some common mistakes you should avoid while applying for the Aramco Approval.
1: Keep documents genuine: Aramco follows a strict checkup, and if caught, you might get blacklisted. S,o submit genuine experience certificates with a company stamp and the signature of a higher authority.
2: Update your CV frequently: Keep clear cut record when you’ve left a company and joined another one. This is because the Aramco authority asks while taking the interview. If you have a long gap during a job shift, then always give a genuine reason for it because the interviewer might ask the reason behind such a long gap.
3: Be honest with the interviewer: While the interview candidate guesses the answer if they don’t know. Say “I don’t know’ but i will learn instead of a wrong answer. This is because it matter of safety, and if you answer incorrectly or fail to be transparent, then you’ll be rejected.
4: Check contractor profile: If someone asks you that the company gives Aramco approval or something like that, Its a red flag. Always verify the profile of the company before applying with RA agency. Ask the recruiter about the website of the company, the history of the company, etc.
5: Keep CV simple and to the point: While interviewing, the interviewee won’t check the complete CV. They just pick up key highlights from the CV and ask questions based on it. Keep 3-4 maximum before sending for approval.
Key Note: Aramco gives more priority to honest and disciplined candidates.
What if you’re rejected by Aramco?
First, you need to unerstand reason of rejected. Frequent reasons are document mismatch, medical incompatibility, lack of experience or skills.
Documents mismatch: Above, I’ve have given a complete checklist on documents needed for Aramco approval. Prepare your CV and update your documents in that format, and request your contractor to reapply for approval.
Medical Unfit: Take proper treatment and go for pre-medical before actually applying for it.
Lack of Experience: Aramco follows strict standards, and if you’re not aware of it completely, then you might fail. So its better to take in-hand experience while following standards.
If possible, work and consult yourself under the supervision of your seniors.
For example, if you’rea safety officer, then you can consult witha safety consultant or safety supervisor.
Conclusion
Aramco approval is a simple process, but when followed, given steps. Contact the RA agency and apply to companies that work as a direct contractor of Saudi Aramco, make yourself skillful and keep your documents proper, request the contractor to forward documents for approval, and prepare for the interview.
